Rainbow Project Introduction Video Transcript

(00:00:00) Narrator: Welcome to our introduction to the Rainbow Project.

(00:04:00) Every day we use smart technology to help us in our lives.

(00:08:50) From sending texts, taking photos to more complex tasks.

(00:14:00) This technology often depends on artificial intelligence and machine learning.

(00:19:25) Artificial Intelligence only works well if it is developed with lots of accurate and extensive data.

If not, the technology will not work for everybody.  This can be inconvenient, disappointing and make users angry!

(00:33:50) This project will collect data to help train artificial intelligence and machine learning to work better for everyone and everybody.

(00:41:00) Participants will upload a short video clip of themselves and 25 to 50 images in different poses and making different facial expressions.  photo should not have any filters on it, have been cropped or photoshopped/enhanced in any way.

(00:49:50) We are looking for participants who live with significant vision loss or blindness, hearing impairment or deafness, or a speech impairment such as a lisp or stutter to take part.

(01:00:00) Participants will take pictures expressing different facial expressions and poses.

(01:07.75) Participants will also be able to submit eligible photographs from their library to show diverse poses, clothing, settings etc.

(01:16:50) Accessible support and guidelines will be provided.

Data collected will be private and only used by the client.

(01:23:50) We encourage you to reach out with any questions or for support during the project.

We welcome feedback to make sure we are supporting you in the best and most accessible way possible.
